Juan José Freijo

Dr Juan José (JJ) Freijo is the Chief Sustainability Officer and Vice President, Government Affairs EMEA at Brambles, a global leader in supply chain and logistics. He has played a key role spearheading the company’s ambition to pioneer regenerative supply chains.Under Dr Freijo’s stewardship, Brambles has cemented its reputation as a corporate leader in sustainability and is consistently ranked at the top of its fields across major ESG indices and assessments. In 2023, Brambles was recognised as the second most sustainable company in the world by Corporate Knights on its Global 100 list, ranked first in its industry category in the Dow Jones Sustainability Index

Dr Freijo also serves as a member of the professional faculty at Spain’s Escuela de Organizacion Industrial, where he teaches Circular Economy and Sustainability Strategy. He holds a bachelor’s degree in physics, master’s degrees in environmental engineering and applied philosophy, and a PhD in physics.
