Oscar Plata González

Prof. Oscar Plata is Full Professor of Computer Architecture at the
University of Malaga since 2002. Previously, he was professor at the Universities of La Coruña and Santiago de Compostela.
For the past 40 years, he has been working on aspects related to high-performance computing and computer architecture. Currently, his main interests are focused on the design of hardware/software technologies for open hardware architectures (RISC-V), as well as in emerging paradigms such as quantum computing.
He co-leads the digital area of the Malaga Microelectronics project, funded by PERTE Chip. He also participates in the Quantum-Spain project through the UMA-Picasso node of Spanish Supercomputing Network (RES), in the Spanish Open Hardware Alliance (SOHA), and in the Quant-UMA initiative.
