Mara Balestrini

Dr. Mara Balestrini is Strategic Advisor at LACNet, the neutral, non-profit operator of blockchain networks for inclusion and development. She leads efforts to scale digital public infrastructure and promote responsible innovation in blockchain and Web3. Previously, she was Chief Technology Officer at IDB Lab, where she led the digital transformation program, and CEO of Ideas for Change, driving tech and innovation strategies for cities, companies, and multilateral organizations. Mara holds a PhD in Human-Computer Interaction from UCL and is a TEDx speaker, researcher, and lecturer on technology and social impact.
