Jan Adriaenssens

Jan Adriaenssens is director connected society & embedded groups at the research center imec. He coordinates a wide range of initiatives on the societal and regional impact of imec. He also manages the integration of the embedded academic research groups into the imec R&D organization. Jan studied mathematics in Antwerp (PhD) and philosophy in London (MSc). He gained experience in science and innovation policy with the Flemish government. He then joined the research center iMinds, which merged with the research center imec in 2016. At imec he started as director of the City of Things program and later became its director of public technology. In all his roles, Jan focusses on the role that technology can play in society.
