All Speakers Speaker Ignacio Sáez Martínez Position: Associate Professor & Research Director Company: Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai Ignacio Saez, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor in the Departments of Neuroscience, Neurosurgery, and Neurology and the Director of the Human Neurophysiology Laboratory at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount Sinai and the Friedman Brain Institute. His research leverages neurosurgical clinical interventions to carry out intracranial recordings of human electrical and chemical brain activity. His lab focuses on understanding the neurobiological basis of complex human behavior and cognition, such as economic decision-making and social behavior, and in developing novel neurostimulation approaches for psychiatric conditions such as depression. He also works with neurotechnology industry partners to develop novel applications for high-density recordings, with the goal of generating cognitive Brain Computer Interfaces.
