Gabriel Castañares, Head of Energy Strategy at Renfe. Bacheloor and Master Degree on Environmental Sciences from the Autonomous University of Madrid and Wageningen University, close to two decades of professional activity in the fields of sustainability and the environment.

Linked to Renfe since 2007, he has also held the positions of national expert for the European Commission in Middle Eastern countries, Head of Energy and Climate Projects for the International Railway Union for two years and Director-General of Agenda 2030 in the Ministry of Social Rights and Agenda 2030 in charge of the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals for four years.
