Ernesto is a finance professional with over 30 years of international experience across Spain, France, Mexico, and Argentina. Currently CEO of Monex in Spain, he previously served as Finance Director at BBVA Argentina and Deputy Finance Director at BBVA Mexico, gaining deep expertise in corporate financial management. His career includes key roles as Investment Director at Santander Asset Management (Spain) and Fixed Income Director at Société Générale (Spain/France), specializing in balance sheet risk management and investments.
During his tenure in Mexico, he chaired the Mexican Banking Association’s Finance Commission, leading the implementation of Basel III and IFRS 9 standards. A Doctor in Economic and Business Sciences, he has lectured at universities and postgraduate programs. Earlier, as a Specialist Sergeant in the Spanish Air Force, he developed leadership skills that shaped his corporate career.
