Over the last few years there has been a strong consolidation of the telecommunications sector in Spain, with four operators at the national level with almost full market share. On the other hand, the increasingly evident integration of information technologies with communications is allowing new players to provide the business market with services that go beyond traditional fixed and mobile communications, thereby providing new and better tools that facilitate and drive the process of digitisation in companies. As a result, new challenges and opportunities arise in the area of telecommunications regulation at European Union level. ASOTEM brings together a group of alternative operators specialised in the business segment in Spain, who are a clear exponent of the digitisation process that is taking place in the telecommunications sector in Europe and the United States.
